Stage Expansion

We're working on expanding the stage. It probably worked great for the previous owners, but we needed a little more room for chairs, music stands and mic stands. Also, I'm not the most graceful and kept tripping over those corners.

Next step is to add laminate flooring and trim.

We're planning some small concerts and the bigger stage will come in handy.

January Jam!

We're going to try out the second Saturday of each month as our regular open jam day beginning in January, and we've decided to start a bit earlier in the day.

So dust off your guitars, your mandolins, your fiddles, and your friends and come on down to the birdhouse for some fun!

This one is going to be a potluck, so bring a snack or a dish to share with the group.

• From DFW, take 35W South.
• You'll pass Burleson, Alvarado, and Grandview along the way. 
• Take Exit #12, FM 67 (NOT HWY 67 which you'll also pass) 
• Turn Right (West) on FM 67
• Follow this long and some times winding road about 6.5 miles
• Cross 171 (there will be a gas station on your right)
• You'll now be on Gathings Ave.
• the birdhouse is in the old time strip center on your right

Open House Success!

Our inaugural jam was a success! We're guessing there were 60 to 70 people either playing or listening. The music was wonderful, the food was fantastic (thanks Andy), and everyone seemed to have a really good time!

We don't expect that kind of a crowd at every pickin', but it sure was a nice kick-off.

Our friend Andy (AndyWhite.Net) also took some incredible pictures of the pickers, so if you weren't able to make it out, you can still have a taste of the evening!

 

 

Open House Pickin' - December 6th

Everything is ready for our Open House Jam on December 6th. We had a few pickers come out to test the acoustics last night, and the sound was fantastic!

Bring your guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, voice, and music buddies and join us. If you don't play or sing, come on out to listen!

There will be snacks.

Getting Things Ready

Paper work is done. We're still doing a few maintenance items and clean-up.
We should be posting an open-house jam invite soon!
